Welcome to Wezembeek Wanderers FC: Football Basics for the Young

Wezembeek Wanderers (Wezwa) Football Club was started back in 1990 by a number of enthusiastic parents and volunteers. The objective of this amateur club is to provide a fun and friendly environment for children of all ages (from 6 to 16) and abilities to enjoy the beautiful game of football.

This principle provides the foundation for the Sunday sport's club, which celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2020. Every year Wezwa try to enter local Belgian tournaments (often in the spring) as a test of the WEZWA players’ abilities, with increasing success and even several trophies.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here you can find out all the information you need to know about Wezembeek Wanderers FC from how to register, age groups, who runs the club, fees, club kit, coaching, training, etc.

Hopefully any questions you have will be answered in this section but feel free to email us if you have any other queries.

What is the history behind the club? Who runs the Wezembeek Wanderers Football Club (WEZWA FC) today?

The club started in 1990 on an area of grassland behind the convent in Wezembeek-Oppem. As it grew in popularity, it moved up the road to pitches owned by the British School of Brussels in Tervuren. WEZWA FC has always been run by volunteers who love the beautiful game and want to share the spirit of fair play, enjoyment and inclusivity to both boys and girls from the ages of 6 to 16. In 2021 Wezwa FC moved back to train in Wezembeek-Oppem at the commune's football club on Sportpleinstraat.

Recycling Football Boots and Wezwa kits
06/09/2021

At Wezwa FC we encourage recycling; your old football boots (no metal studs) or Wezwa football kits (shirts/shorts/socks) might be too small but if they are in good condition, they can be donated to our recycling box. Boots and kits can be exchanged for another second hand item for free!

Or if you don't have items to swop, you can make a donation (boots 10 Euro) with proceeds going to a chosen Wezwa FC charity.
